EQUAL EXCHANGE BANANAS

Equal Exchange teamed up with Spunk to create an identity and design for their plantation-free bananas. As a worker owned not-for-profit with annual revenue exceeding 30 million dollars, Equal Exchange is well versed in creating Fair Trade plantation-free farm environments. Having already tackled the world of plantations in the chocolate, nut and coffee markets, Equal Exchange set out to do the same with banana plantations. Historically, farmers on banana plantations have been subject to slavery-like conditions. So, Spunk created a design direction that helped embody, champion and celebrate the sustainable world of farmer owned and operated banana farms. Go bananas!

FAIR FOOD FIGHT

Spunk was truly honored when approached by Equal Exchange to help them design and develop their Fair Food Fight program. Equal Exchange is a  worker owned not-for-profit company with an annual revenue of approximately 30 plus million dollars. Drawing on imagery from Lucha Libre Mexican wrestling to reinforce the “FIGHT”, Spunk created an online forum to assist the Food Fighters. It’s primary mission is to raise awareness on issues revolving around food, the environment and human rights. The forum is used  as meeting place to help educate and energize, educate and mobilize the fighters.
